Tetris scarf

For a while now Ive been wanting to make a Tetris scarf but have been too lazy to chart up a pattern and also have been stumped on how to make it look good from the front and back since Intarnsia knitting looks a mess from behind. Low and behold, someone on Craftster solved the problem with a simple solution….making it double sided.

Tetris Scarf

I love that it just looks like a mosaic pattern at first glance but then you recognize the shapes and instantly know what the scarf is. Truly chic and geek ;)

The woman made the pattern and had her mom knit it up and unfortunately she doesnt seem to have posted the pattern, but another poster linked to a Tetris chart for making a baby blanket that you could easily adapt into a scarf. You can download that here.

Here you can see how wide the scarf is before its doubled over. A great way to make the scarf visually appealing from all sides!

Im always talking about how its easy to find geeky game themed baked goods, but its rare to find savor geekness. Well one clever foodie has mastered the art of geeky savory foods in a very classic and fun way…bento boxes!

Pac-Man Oven Mitts

Thats it, I can retire from blogging now because the greatest geeky domestic tool has been invented.

Pac-Man Oven Mitts

From domestic goody guru Fred comes heat handling silicone mitts that will satisfy your inner geek while you cook. Best of all is that inside the mitts they are textured with a Pac-Man course for texture and extra geekness. These babies launch in mid-April for a steal at $15 a pop.

I have a birthday coming up in late April…I’m just sayin’ ;)

Knitted King Boo hat

Was trolling through some knitting sites today and came across this awesome knitted beanie. Its a few years old but its new to me so I figure its new to some of you as well! Now bow down before the almighty…

King Boo

I always thought the Boos were some of the cutest characters in the Mario world so needless to say Im in love with this hat. It looks like its a standard beanie knit in a round using this pattern chart. This pattern was created by Kelly of Purl Friday and is simple yet cute. I think Id like to try it out but felt the hat after for extra fuzzy Booness.

8Bit Heart Cookies

Snack or Die has a new recipe up just in time for Valentines Day!

8Bit Heart Sugar Cookies

Mmmm pixels and sugar, a match made in heaven! If youve been hesitant to try a Snack or Die recipe because you feel your confectionery skills are not up to par, this is surely a good beginners project. Hell all you need to do is buy a vat of pre-made sugar cookie dough, a heart sapped cookie cutter and some M&Ms and youre halfway done! I love that the only problem Jocelyn ran into was getting the right color M&Ms, however her solution was quite clever…and delicious…

“What I ended up doing is pouring a bag of M&Ms into a small dish and ate all the non-red M&Ms. Problem solved.”
