Pacman ring set

Every year around this time the Etsy users really kick their work into high gear hoping to lure holiday buyers with unique gift ideas. While sadly many of them are something that no one would want to unwrap (you can see some of these tragedies at Regretsy) there are some wonderful gems like the one below.

Pacman Ring Series

This sterling silver and black onyx set of 4 rings is a classy way to show off your love of the pixely little pellet muncher. Unfortunately the seller is all sold out of this set, but maybe if we all write letters to Santa she’ll make some more in time for Christmas.

Tetris Pots

I think its apparent by now that we here at Domestic Geek LOVE Tetris. See Exhibits A, B, C and D. Well now we have another item to add to our growing list of awesomely geeky domestic products.

Tetris Pots

25 year old French artist Stephanie Choplin is an Industrial Design student working on her Master’s degree. Her work is clean and practical with a modern twist. Unfortunately it doesnt look like any of it is for sale as of yet, but hopefully Ms Choplin’s beautiful creations will be gracing store shelves sooner than later. Be sure to check out all of her work on her website.

Tetris scarf

For a while now Ive been wanting to make a Tetris scarf but have been too lazy to chart up a pattern and also have been stumped on how to make it look good from the front and back since Intarnsia knitting looks a mess from behind. Low and behold, someone on Craftster solved the problem with a simple solution….making it double sided.

Tetris Scarf

I love that it just looks like a mosaic pattern at first glance but then you recognize the shapes and instantly know what the scarf is. Truly chic and geek ;)

The woman made the pattern and had her mom knit it up and unfortunately she doesnt seem to have posted the pattern, but another poster linked to a Tetris chart for making a baby blanket that you could easily adapt into a scarf. You can download that here.

Here you can see how wide the scarf is before its doubled over. A great way to make the scarf visually appealing from all sides!

Space Invaders ice cube trays

Ok so my friend Patrick Klepek just pointed me in the direction of the most awesome ice cube tray ever. Ok, I know I find a new awesome ice cube tray every other month but seriously this one is amazing.

Ice Invaders Ice Cube Tray

This one actually tops the Tetris Ice Cube tray in terms of awesomeness and geekyness. The tray is a durable silicon tray that allows you to make 4 different pixely aliens from the classic Taito game which is one of the most successful and beloved games of all time. At a mere $7.50 how can you not buy it?

Mmmm whiskey and pixels….a match made in heaven.

DIY Mega Man Knit hat

It seems theres a never ending stream of awesome video game themed knits (trust me a I have a back log of projects and blog posts) but I found one today that is by far one of my favorites. This falls into the category of old but new to me…so hopefully its new to some of you as well!

Mega Man Knit Hat

Apparently a very lucky geeky boy has a super awesome crafty gal who knit him up this awesome hat. Now she just needs to knit him some Mega Man arm warmers and leg warmers and hes all set to battle Dr Willy.

To knit your own click here.

Bonus stage!
Crochet queen talli_1985 crocheted her own version! Equally awesome!

World of Warcraft Horde Cupcakes

I guess Friday should just be Cupcake Day from now on! Snack or Die has posted yes another geeky confection and even though Im not a WoW fan I still appreciate the awesomeness in this one. Mostly due to the use of fondant which I have yet to try myself.

Pac-Man Oven Mitts

Thats it, I can retire from blogging now because the greatest geeky domestic tool has been invented.

Pac-Man Oven Mitts

From domestic goody guru Fred comes heat handling silicone mitts that will satisfy your inner geek while you cook. Best of all is that inside the mitts they are textured with a Pac-Man course for texture and extra geekness. These babies launch in mid-April for a steal at $15 a pop.

I have a birthday coming up in late April…I’m just sayin’ ;)

Kirby Cupcakes

Ok one guess as to where Im linking to in this blog. Go ahead….guess….yup you guessed it, gaming confectionery guru Snack or Die. This time Jocelyn gives us what might be my favorite creation yet…

Kirby Cupcakes

Not only adorable, but these cupcakes are low-fat! Man Kirby could sure use some low-fat cupcakes himself! Its a simple mix using the old trick of Diet-Sprite when mixing the cake batter to cut down on sugar. The Diet-Sprite also ads a nice fluffiness to the mixture. After baking the cupcakes like normal all you need is some cake decorating gel and two little M&Ms to create your little Kirby’s.

Its actually incredibly simple and thats what makes this recipe so wonderful, anyone even with the worst cake decorating skills could execute this confection. So no excuses for not making this deliciously geeky treat!

New theory, anything is cute in Sackboy form

Today I learned that crafty geekette Maggie Wang just produced another amazing custom crochet Sackboy in the form of Prince of Persia.

Sack Prince of Persia

This adorable little creation is amazing because of the sheer detail put into it. Maggie sells custom Sackboys for $50 which made me ponder what I would want in Sackboy form. My first desire would probably be a Watchmen set followed by a Girls Next Door trio. Although Im convinced anything would be cute in Sackboy form…hell a Dick Cheney Sackboy would probably still be cute! What would you want in Sackboy form?
