Its spring time which means that if your in your 20s or 30s there will inevitably be at least one wedding you are invited to. Well, we should all be so lucky as to get invited to a wedding as cool as this one featured on Offbeat Bride.
Stephanie & Chase’s Gamer, Nerdabilly, Geek Chic Wedding
While we’ve all seen geeky themed weddings before, what I like most about this one is that they still managed to make it look chic and classy all on a minimal budget! First of all, note the awesome 8bit ties worn by all the men as well as the obligatory light sabers
Instead of a traditional cake, they used cupcakes to make Zelda, Link and a life heart…8bit style of course!
My favorite part has to be the adorable Super Mario table decorations!
Classy and geeky all at once! Im sure even those unfamiliar with Mario found these table decorations to be adorable.
To read more about this epic wedding including the orchestrated Zelda music for the processional, read the bride’s writeup here!
ps- thanks to my friend Julie for pointing me in the direction of this awesome wedding!

I love cake. Ok so I dont love eating cake so much as I love looking at cakes. Im obsessed with watching all the different cake competitions on Food Network, Ace of Cakes and wedding cake specials on WE (yes I hate to admit but I occasionally watch WE just for the cakes). I just love watching the amazing artistic creations made out of sugar and flour. Anywho my good friend Jenn tweeted today about the most amazing cake in the history of amazing cakes. Behold…
Its a girl! Its Darth Vader! Its adorable! Im just going to go out on a limb and say this is the best baby shower cake ever. I mean look at the details! Theres ruffles and bows and bottles…and Lord Vader. And lets not overlook the amazing 90s-rific airbrushing with the planet scape in the background. Bravo…bravo. When I decide to squeeze another life form out of my nether regions I will celebrate the occasion with this cake made by

Previous I wrote about how my friend Steph made the most amazing Battlestar Galactica beanie based off of Starbucks mandala aka the Eye of Jupiter. Well I just came across yet another crafty BSG fan who has made the most amazing and adorable cylon hat youve ever seen.
The Happiest Cylon Beanie
A knitted by a crafty little geekster by the name of Wonderfallz, this pattern is so frakin awesome (although I’ll have to make sure I done wear it riding my bike. To make your own Cylon beanie download the pattern for free here.
Happy knitting all you fraking toasters!

Ok ok I know LOLcats are sooooooo last season but you still cant help but love this amazing DIY project. Forwarded to me by my good friend Stephanie is this amazing craft project from Alexa Westerfield a.k.a. Swelldesigner.
All the supplies you need to make this lunch box type purse can be purchased at just about any craft store and if you dont have a photo quality printer you can go to Walgreens or Kinkos and get a photo quality print for pretty cheap. Follow these step by step instructions and in a matter of hours you can rock out with your geek out!
Also if you feel the LOLcat trend is soooo last week you can shove any other image you like on there, think about it…a level from your favorite game, your favorite movie or maybe just you and your friends. Here are some Im considering…
Obama + Aretha Hat = FIEEEEEEEEEEERCE
What better way to highlight my epic crush on Edward James Olmos aka Commander Adama than with a sparkly purse
Master Chief in a thong…just because it would be funny and good conversation starter
This is the front runner just because it combines two of my favorite things…Tecate and boobies.
Anyone have any ideas for what they would put on their purse?

Ive written about Tetris home geekery before (here and here) but I think Ive finally found the ultimate in Tetris domestic goodness. Behold….
Maybe this has been posted around the net before so pardon me if this is a late pass..but its new to me! Besides, something this awesome needs reposting. Inspired by the classic shapes of Tetris and the need for efficient clean space, designer June He created this geometric masterpiece. The kitchen is basically transformed into a jewelry box in which all the pieces pull out into place and hide away so it looks like a sleek tile wall when not in use.
The tiles could also be changed color wise to reflect whatever scheme you would like. I for one and such a fan of this because living in an urban area like San Francisco, space becomes a luxury…yet at the same time I am unwilling to give up a large kitchen in order to obtain more living room space. This design allows for both kitchen space and open room all with an effortlessly cool and minimalist appeal. Unfortunately this design is still in prototype, but when I hit the lottery and built my dream flat, you can bet my kitchen will look like this.

Jocelyn of Snack or Die has done it again and created yet another confectionary gaming masterpiece. This time she tips her baking hat to last years epic FPS, Bioshock with some Big Daddy Cupcakes.
Bioshock Big Daddy Cupcakes
As usual she includes step by step instructions as well as images. I think its incredibly clever to use M&Ms as the lights on the Big Daddy helmet. The only thing I think I would change about this recipe is using licorice bands to create the mask. I know that they are the right choice to create the texture and form, but Im just not a fan of black licorice. I would probably try to make some thin chocolate bands and even though they wouldnt be as sturdy as the licorice, they would be a lot more tasty.
Now I just need to figure out how to make a Gingerbread Little Sister to go along with my Big Daddy Cupcakes…
