Last year some of you might remember my blog about how to make your own zombie cakes. Well this year for Halloween I thought I would continue the zombie theme, but this time with treats you can make for your zombie guests! Because lets face it…if theyre busy eating these treats, they wont eat your brains ;)
Zombie Brains Cupcakes
Craftster user OhThat made these deliciously brainy cupcakes for her
Panna Cotta Brains with Pomegranate Sauce
Omnibrain of Science Blogs posted this deliciously realistic looking dessert altered from an Alton Brown recipe. Its so realistic looking Im planning on making some in case the zombie apocalypse happens and I need decoys!
While a brain pate might sound gross, this particular pate isnt made from actual brains, it just looks like them. But it will food a zombie long enough for you to plan your escape.
For the zombie thats watching their waistline, this melon brain is healthy and…well…brainy.
Food blogger Canary Girl posted this simple and effective brain party dip. All you need is some cream cheese, ranch seasoning and salsa and youve got yourself a tasty zombie approved treat.
You can get the recipes for all these treats by clicking on the above links…enjoy!
PS- oh and Im sure you noticed many of these recipes require brain molds which can be purchased in many stores this time of year or online at a site like amazon. Mini brains and big brains!

I was at Borders the other day and came across a crochet book that made me want to pick a hook up on the spot.
Creepy Cute Crochet
Heres a few of the projects from the book…
Theres a ton more of these cute little creatures all which are all done in the style of amigurumi. I like them especially because they remind me of Sack Boy from LittleBigPlanet! Im sure many of you remember the homemade Sack Boy that popped up online a while back.
I stumbled across a pattern that you can purchase on Etsy to make your very own!
Its a little off (primarily just in the hands) but with a little tweaking I think it would be perfect! And imagine all the cute little sack clothes you could make for it!
EDIT- it says the pattern on Etsy is sold out but you could probably message the seller and negotiate purchasing it still.
Yesterday’s Zombie Lawn Ornament sent me on a zombie frenzy looking for more domestic zombies. What I came across surprised and delighted me. The sisters from Theyre Coming to Get You Barbara have posted up the most disgustingly detailed zombie themed cakes…all complete with instructions for making your own.
The “field” it is coming up out of is made of homemade French cream candies. The head is a sour cream chocolate chip cake with red dye to create a bloody brain effect. Icing creates the oozing eye socket and the eye itself is a homemade hard candy.
And added bonus is she includes a recipe for Cordial Cherry Eyeballs.
Tasty and gross!
The most gruesome and realistic of all however, is The Thorax Cake.
White cocolate creates the rib cake which encompasses the organs…which are all individual cakes! The heart is an orange cake with raspberry sauce, lungs are an apple spice cake with strawberry sauce,
for the kidneys she made an orange cake with blueberry sauce, stomach is a ginger cake with mango sauce, the liver is a chocolate cake with kiwi sauce and finally for the small intestine a jelly roll with red currant jelly.
These cakes are truly works of zombie art and I plan on trying them all out eventually. For now though I think I’ll start with the Cordial Cherry Eyeballs ;)

When I think about lawn ornaments, usually pink flamingos and fat ladies with polk-a-dot panties comes to mind. Well Design Toscano has unveiled a lawn ornament that makes me want to move to the country and have a big lush garden just so I can stick this puppy in it.
The Zombie of Montclaire Moors Sculpture
“We challenged noted British artist Alan Dickinson to create his most haunting image exclusively for Toscano—and he certainly delivered! Not for the faint of heart, Dickinson’s life-sized, gray-toned zombie will claw his way out of your garden plot or family room corner, pleading for assistance with the most lifelike eyes you’ve ever seen. His macabre expression is captured in such great detail in quality designer resin and finished so realistically that you’ll swear you can hear him breathing! Arrives in 3 pcs.”
Priced at $89.95, this lawn ornament is well worth the cost to freak your neighbors out.
